The Crow's Aura" (Page 85)

I hitched a small trailer onto my 2001 Ford Mustang that I had previously named Shakira. Unlike her older brother, the 1970 Ford Mustang – the Red Demon, Shakira had power and could pull the trailer without a problem, plus it is what I have available at the moment. I loaded it with the little bit of belongings we have.

We were moving forward with the decision to move to Houston, Texas so we could be closer to my 2 older children. Bunnee got in the car with Galaxy and said farewell to our home and San Diego.

We got on the I-8 freeway and we listened to some music at a low volume.

“So have you decided on what we talked about?” Bunnee asked me.

“Yes, my father agreed, we’re going to Guymon, Oklahoma to spend some time with him first. I need to understand exactly what happened in my past and how I feel I jumped 17 years ahead in time,” I said.

“Did you let Sylvia and the kids know that we are delaying our move a little bit?” she asked.

“Yes, they were cool with it. Plus, once we leave my father’s home, we’ll have plenty of time to heal as a family between Sylvia, Isaias, Priscilla and I.

Thank you my love for doing this with me,” I said to Bunnee as I kept my focus on the road.

“Its not just you that needs to do this, we need to do this. I have feared long enough of failing as a stepmother. I need to prove to myself that I am not only a great mother to my daughter but a great step mom to your children,” Bunnee said as she stared at me.
