The Crow's Aura" (Page 72)

The day came when it was time to pick up Sylvia from the airport. Bunnee, Galaxy and I drove into the airport, as we looked for her in the arrivals pickup area outside, Bunnee received a call from Sylvia, it turned out that she arrived in a smaller plane and that we could pick her up in the remote location of the airport.

We embraced and said our hello’s. The girls quickly got inside the car to avoid the airport’s security guard’s hassle. I placed her sports-bag in the trunk and got inside the driver’s seat.

“Where would you like to eat?” I asked Sylvia.

“Isaias said I need to try a California burrito, so I think I should start there.”

“Wait, Isaias has eaten the California burrito before,” I asked.

Both Bunnee and Sylvia said, “He lived here with you all last year,”

“Oh, I’m sorry I… I don’t recall my memories too well,” I said in a funny voice.

We all laughed and made our way to one of the many taco shops in San Diego. The California burrito is also a piece of art, it contains (in most taco shops) French fries, carne asada, pico de gallo salsa and guacamole all wrapped up in  a huge flour tortilla.

Now, hold up, I know what you’re thinking – “I thought Bunnee and your family only ate healthy, home-cooked, organic, local farm and so on meals?” Yes, most of the times. This is something that I personally desire because if it was up to Bunnee we would eat healthy meals 24/7. Which is fine but sometimes I like to get out and enjoy some other selections and types of foods to put it politely.

After dinner we stayed up a little while longer and talked about our current state of affairs as well as my “proposal” for us all living together in Houston.

Sylvia didn’t think too much on it before she expressed her interest and agreement.

“Ok, our next step then is to have a conference call with the kids, let them know what we have decided to do as a family. If they oppose we’ll hold off but if they are also in agreement – we move forward with the plan,” I said to both Sylvia and Bunnee.

It was getting late and Galaxy started getting a little fuzzy. She was ready to go to bed. As we said our goodnights, Irene hugged Sylvia and said, “Good night mama, I love you.”

Sylvia responded, “Goodnight Irene, I love you too.”

I then hugged Sylvia and said, “Good night Shivita, I love you.”
